Here JJ works on constructing one of the Lifter prototypes.:

Basically the Lifter is an asymmetric capacitor. The top wire and the bottom foil form the capacitor over the balsa wood frame. When a high-voltage charge is applied to the Lifter, it rises into the air.

Some people claim that is true antigravity. However, we believe what is really going on is the device ionizes the air around it in such a manner that the air rushes downward and creates lift.
