The French Quarter is filled with the usual people trying to make a buck off of tourists. Somehow, the hucksters don't seem so annoying (probably because you are drunk - back up a page if you missed that).
I remember we saw several pairs of young boys who turned their sneakers into tap shoes with tacks or something. They would just get all Mr. Bojangles all over the place and put a collection plate out front. I think they made good money.
Here's a carriage driver waiting patiently. It is so damn hot and muggy in New Orleans.
